Slide We believe in world-class critical care. It's in our DNA. AIMSS was founded by Board Certified Critical Care Specialists. This foundation means higher standards, deeper cross-disciplinary cooperation, and countless lives saved. Because the city that invents the future deserves the future of veterinary medicine. Team The veterinary physicians of AIMSS are at the top of their fields. Board Certified Specialists undergo multiple years of specialized training and testing in order to certify one thing: that they are truly the best of the best in their field. Boarded Criticalists, Surgeons, Oncologists and Radiologists come together to redefine what is possible within veterinary medicine. We do it because caring for your pet the way we would hope our own pet would be cared for isn't just a profession. It is our calling in life.

Your pet means everything to you. That means everything to us. This is the level of medicine you would expect in cutting edge human hospitals. Because love knows no limits.

Slide Technology The Bay's first true veterinary ICU. A Computerized Tomography scanner. A pet ambulance. The best medicine requires the best tools. We started AIMSS because we believe that The Bay deserves to be a pioneer in veterinary standards. Because we are a community of pioneers, rule breakers, and animal lovers. This is the best care for the best pets. Because The Bay deserves no less.

Slide Approach Everything we do is about putting your pet first. They are the reason we come in to work. They are the reason we have dedicated our lives to pioneering new standards of care. And we understand how deeply you love your pet. That is why we believe in a true partnership with you. We care for you like the individual you are. We listen, we guide, and we love. From the front desk, to the follow ups, and everything in between... here, world-class care doesn't stop at the front door.

Because we truly care about what comes next. We commit ourselves to your pet’s life and well-being. After all, our life’s work is to make sure they have the best.

At all levels (intake, diagnosing doc, techs, Surgeon, transport, billing) this is an amazing group of people – at both SF and SM locations! They treated our rescue foster dog (and my wallet) as if she were their own with patience, love and top notch care! We’ve gone down this road a few times before at other reputable clinics and wasted valuable time and money on run-around and unneccesary tests – with Dr Dorrie Black and Dr Jill Williamson and their amazing team, we were able to cut to the quick and get Kelsey diagnosed and treated immediately. Hopefully we will only be back for follow-up and friendly visits but if we need help again, we will go to AIMSS every time.

Dr. Dorrie Black is the kindest, most professional and intelligent vet I have had the pleasure of working with. She is exceptional. She is totally engaged in the ongoing health care of our cat Bella, who has multiple health complications (kidney disease, stones and stomach issues). Dr. Black has figured out solutions for helping our kitty have a calmer experience going to the vet (which terrifies Bella). Dr. Black goes above and beyond what is called for. Aimss also has state of the art equipment. All of the vet techs have been very kind as well. Oh and AIMSS has parking. Plus they are open 24 hours, which is fantastic if you have a pet with ongoing health issues. Thank you for caring for Bella!

Wonderful staff! I thought my only Chihuahua child was choking and ran over to the pet hospital on a Saturday night (they are open 24/7). The staff took him back right away had him tested and treated quickly. They understood, as his mother, I was a anxious and scared my little guy wasn’t going to make it… And they took the time to explain everything multiple times without judgement to make sure I understood the severity of his condition and treatment plan. He had a xray, blood and stool tests, and was seen home with medication and treatment plan. They gave me all the instructions in writing and we’re happy to keep my Chihuahuas primary care informed. They called me three times to check on him…and with the treatment provided, my little guy is back to his tail wagging self!
